Anything involving you being “fake” will turn people away from you. We’re all sick of fake and people that are not authentic. Vulnerable is in fashion and is the new black.

 

We’re all just “winging it.”

I know you think that person who’s the CEO is successful but the truth is they’re just winging it. They don’t have all the answers. The truth is none of us really know what we’re doing.

We keep the L Plates on for our entire life. We’re always learning and no one has all the wisdom or knowledge that’s available. So instead of trying to be perfect, learn to wing it like the people you look up to as “successful.”

 

You should value your time more than you do.

You procrastinate more than you realize. Your not so smartphone is the new form of procrastination. You tell yourself that looking at your phone is work, but it’s not. Your phone wastes your time and you’re fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Time is what allows you to think and make smart decisions. Time is where your dreams can be created and it’s how you start a side hustle. If you have a 9-5, time is also what you need to escape and start your own thing. Stop wasting your time!

 

Saying no is the discipline you need.

There’s no point having goals if you say yes to every Joe Blow that comes your way wanting your precious time for their own project. Learn to say no. Only say yes if it feels good in the moment; otherwise, you’ll end up with too many priorities and not enough time to work on your dream.

No will give you space. Yes will exhaust you.

 

You really shouldn’t have “just one more.”

The phrase “just one more” is the sign to stop. It’s never just one more. Stop lying to yourself homie and understand that giving in to temptation hurts your success big time.

You don’t need one more beer to numb your life.

You don’t need one more episode of that TV show to numb your life.

Enough is enough. No more.

 

You’re not that much of a big deal.

I know it’s easy to believe you’re a big deal – especially now with the power social media gives us all. The truth is you’re not a big deal and neither am I. We’re all human and kind of the same. Turning the dial down on your ego will make you more sociable. People want to know someone who is interested in them and not just themselves.

Your job title is not that cool.

Your car is meaningless in the scheme of things.

Your Gucci sunglasses aren’t impressing anyone.

 

Finding your unique value is a moment of awakening.

The day you discover how you can bring value to the world, is the day everything changes. Spend as much time as you can discovering what your value proposition is. In simple terms: How can you help us all? What do you know that we do not? What problem can you solve?

My day came when I realized I could inspire people through blogging. I want your day to arrive. Be patient and it will.

 

Honesty is super sexy.

Exaggeration has become the new lying. Talking things up all the time is tiring. When you stretch the truth or lie, you’ll get found out – eventually. So now you know, there’s no point. Tell the truth because it’s easy. You’ll never be lost for words. Tell the truth through your experience.

Honesty leads to effective communication and that’s what we all suck at. Problems stem from a lack of clarity and many of us make assumptions about stuff we have no clue about. Make the decision to become sexy through honesty. Hubba Hubba!

 


We all have our own problems.

That’s why I don’t have time to be focused on yours. So, therefore, no one’s thinking for more than a second about the fact you messed up. Now you’re free. You can make mistakes and have the piece of mind that no one is going to remember what you did wrong.

We’re all toddlers at heart trying to explore the world and find what’s true and what’s not. We’re all trying to find the meaning of life and that will come through taking huge risks with no understanding of what might occur. Next time you stuff up that speech, remember it’s all gravy.

 

Your idea of success changes over time.

When you’re 18, you’ll think having a car is success. When you’re 25, you’ll think graduating university is success. When you finish university, you’ll think getting a corporate job is success. When you hit your 30’s, you’ll think owning a home and having a family is success.

When you hit 50, you’ll think seeing your kids grow up to fend for themselves is success. When you’re 65, you’ll think retirement is success. When you’re 70 plus, you’ll think just being alive is success. Your vision for success changes based on your age. Learn what true success is at the youngest possible age and your life will get better.

Success is living your purpose.

Success is finding a way to give to others.

Success is finding and understanding love.

Success is being grateful instead of being pissed off.

Success is seeing the world for its infinite positivity.

 

Saying WTF is making you sound dumb.

Really dumb. Acronyms are for lazy people who are going nowhere. Don’t use them.

 

Doing what you say you’re going to do is a superpower.

Ever been promised something and then not received it? The next time that same person promises something, do you believe them? No, you don’t. Doing what you say you’re going to do is a superpower because no one does it.

Rather than over promising, set lower expectations. Then when you deliver, you’ll find people are over the moon when really they shouldn’t be. Try it. It works.

 

We all have to build something.

A life. A business. A family. A romantic relationship. A house. If you’re not building, then you’re not growing. Things that don’t grow die (like many of the people you meet who are alive, but dead inside).

 

You don’t work as hard as you think.

Yep that’s another lie you tell yourself. Most of us don’t know what hard work is. We do one hour of emails and then take a break to watch something on YouTube to reward ourselves. Hard work is going ten hours with nothing but a glass of water in front of you.

Put the hours in.

Do the extra reps.

Work your butt off.

Then your hard work will translate into something special.

 

You also don’t take a break as often as you should.

Almost sounds like a contradiction – it’s not. Working hard is important but so is taking a break a few times a year. If you don’t recharge your mind through travel, you’ll become comfortable and bored. This is the worst feeling in the universe.

 

Quitting is sometimes necessary and really hard to do.

Do it regardless.

Quit if you hate it.

Quit if you’ve had enough.

Stop talking and start doing. You don’t have to “put up” with anything if you don’t want to. Stop being so soft. Quitting leads to opportunities.

 

Being you is attractive to the opposite sex.

The opposite sex is only interested in your “washboard abs,” car, money or clothes for maybe a split second. The truth is being you without all of that fakeness layered on top that impresses nobody is the game you want to play. Being you and being authentic is attractive because it’s so rare.

 

Subtract rather than add.

If you’ve missed your goals, it’s because you need to subtract more. Focus comes from subtracting, not adding more things to that stupid to-do list that makes you feel like a failure.

Subtracting gives you time back in your day to reallocate towards the goals that you care about.

Less is more. Minimalism is funky. 

 

Show me your Ferrari and I’ll show you what really matters.

How you feel is what you want. That’s the only reason you’d buy a chunk of red metal to feel differently. Nothing wrong with Ferrari’s, but let’s focus on making you feel incredible instead.

 

Who am I?

Ask this question to yourself a lot.

Self-reflection brings the answers you’ve been seeking. These answers will steer you down the right path and stop you becoming incongruent.

 

Being nice for the sake of it is rare.

So be nicer for no reason if you want to stand out and make people smile.

Smiles take your life up a notch.

 

Your neighbor is not that fly.

They look successful. They tell you they’re successful. They throw big parties with all of their friends to appear successful. Whether they truly are, you’ll probably never know. That’s a good outcome because you don’t have time to think about your neighbor. You’ve got your own party to prepare for called “life.”

 

Don’t tell us, show us.

Talk is cheap amigo. Most people can talk a head off a chicken. Stop telling and start showing through action.

Action, Action, Action. More success comes from action.

 

Pat yourself on the back when you fail.

What A Daily Gratitude Tracker Did To My Mindset.

I’ve read the books of every self-help, inspiring person I could get my hands on. I’ve done the same in the podcast world too.

The topic of gratitude comes up almost every time. While I lied to myself and pretended I practiced gratitude, the truth was I didn’t – I just told myself I did.

Then one day, enough was enough. I realized I was taking my career for granted. I took the following three steps to practice daily gratitude:

1. I went into Microsoft Word and created a blank document called “Gratitude Tracker” and saved it on my desktop.
2. I set a calendar reminder for 9 am every day called “Gratitude Exercise.”
3. Without fail, every day, I entered in three things I was grateful for.

 

I used to think I was grateful.

This 3-step process taught me I was not. The feeling before and after is totally different. When you keep a gratitude tracker for a minimum of 30 days straight, you’ll notice a shift. I found myself becoming less greedy and my craving for material objects decreased.

I saw the simplicity in the world through crystal clear vision and the benefits that came with it.

 

I found gratitude in the smallest things.

Do you want to know what ended up in my gratitude tracker? Small things like fresh water to drink, lunches with clients and feeling valued in my team at work. Before having a gratitude tracker, I would never have found happiness in such small things.

Other things that showed up were:

– Finding a beautiful girlfriend
– My career
– Being able to overcome my fear of flying
– My mentors
– Drinking tea
– Having a blogging audience
– Overseas travel
– Nice text messages from family and friends

 

It forces you to look for the good.

I found out my career was down the toilet. On that particular day, I didn’t feel like seeing the good in the world. My habit of writing in a gratitude tracker forced me to.

“No matter what, I had convinced myself that not coming up with three things I was grateful for daily equaled failure”

I look everywhere in my life to find something that I could be happy about. Having to look so hard to find good made me realize that it’s actually pretty easy. Good is everywhere when we practice focusing on it.

This day was made much less challenging because of my gratitude tracker. My gratitude tracker became my emergency sanctuary that I could bask in like the sun when the thunderstorms of everyday life hit my little world – also known as my mindset.

 

Don’t overdo it.

Only list down three things in your gratitude tracker every day. Any more than that and you’ll get busy and then lie to yourself about not having time. Lack of time is a myth. Complication is what is truthfully stopping you from taking up these life-changing habits. Also, don’t write war and peace.

“This whole process should take about 45 seconds”

Overthinking and going into detail will force you to be lazy over time. Keep it “simple stupid” (an Aussie catchphrase).

 

What happens if you miss a day?

Don’t be angry with yourself – you deserve better. Just get back on the horsey and write double the list of things you are grateful for the next day. Feel free to mention things that you wrote down previously as being grateful for. The only goal when doing this is to write them in a different way.

Hearing the same thing over and over, said slightly differently, helps to reinforce it into the mindset you live your life with.

Gratitude only works when you practice it just like any “Success Habit.”

The self-help gurus may be exaggerating a lot of what success is but one thing they’re not wrong about is practicing gratitude. I’ve done my best to describe the feelings and changes to my mindset although ultimately you need to try it for yourself.

Fantasising about success will never get you close to it. Telling yourself to be more positive doesn’t really work either. Make gratitude be the vehicle you use to be positive and become successful in whatever pursuit you put your mind to.

Here’s another cool lesson I learned from skimming through the web, reading authority blogs. When I first started to blog, I wasn’t educated in online marketing so I had to rely on many resources to get the information I needed. However, I consider myself a reasonably smart person and my track record has proven it over the years. I’ve attended university and specialized in other areas afterward. Next, people have come to me for consulting because they trust my opinion and I know what has to be done to become successful online. However, there are those who are getting involved in the industry without having any knowledge about the business. They’re NOT super smart and find themselves at a cross-roads because they think you have to be “super smart” to be successful online. I’m here to tell you this is NOT true and anyone can be successful by leveraging what they have available. The MOST important thing is you don’t have to be smart, but simply creative to implement a successful marketing strategy. Here’s something else…

As a blogger, if you can perform a “search”, then that’s all you really need to find the resources to help you learn the fundamentals. Again, you don’t have to be “SMART”, but “CREATIVE” to succeed in online marketing.

Let’s look at a few “CREATIVE” factors that play a role in online success. Some of these cool tips are provided by Neil Patel from QuickSprout.com

Tip 1 – Bug Experienced Bloggers

You might have NO experience but you know many others do, so why not get them to help? When I needed help with affiliate marketing, I started by doing a quick search online and created a list of the influential players in the niche. I went through contacting them, going over what I needed. I asked them for FREE knowledge and what it would take to keep this networking going so I could count on them the next time I needed help. Many of them were willing to help me for FREE, but some asked for content and to mention their names when I published content. The point is, it doesn’t take a genius to think of this strategy because all you have to do is be a little creative in your approach. If you want to implement this strategy, then start by:

  • Doing a “targeted” search
  • Creating a list of bloggers
  • Doing a quick outreach
  • Implement the strategy

Tip 2 – Enroll In A Course

If you can do a simple search for your niche, then you won’t have any problems locating courses to teach you what you need to know. Depending on your budget, you can even hire individual bloggers for independent coaching, which I see many people doing now. However, you have to be specific about what you’re trying to learn. For example, you should hire a SEO blogger if you’re trying to learn optimization. You can also approach a SEO company, asking them to work on a project and paying them extra for them to teach you about the process. However, SEO companies are reluctant about showing you their strategy because this goes against their entire business model.

Tip 3 – Network with Experts

Once you start building momentum in the industry, you’ll open up more opportunities for yourself. You’ll be invited to more marketing events and will be able to network with other bloggers. At this point, you can be creative in the way you approach them and ask them to help out but this is what’s recommended by Neil Patel. When first meeting an influential blogger at these events, it’s a good idea to buy them a beer or food, starting with some small chat. The main focus should be to build the initial communication and then you can keep increasing from there. It’s about getting your foot in the door so you can explore other opportunities going forward. Once you have your foot in the door, you can keep building your relationships with these bloggers and slowly start to pick at their brains for information.

Tip 4 – Keep Practicing

No matter what type of niche you’re in or whether you’re an expert or beginner, it’s important to keep practicing. If you want to be the best in what you do, it’s important you learn the strategies and keep practicing going forward. Many people who are starting out will read about marketing strategies and NOT implement them into their own blogging. When I first learned the technique of the confirmation email, I could hardly believe my eyes because tasks that had been thrown in my lap and taking up much of my time, suddenly vanished. People eventually stopped asking me to help them, because they couldn’t be bothered.

5. Chunking

My personal favorite productivity hack, and the one I have my clients implement immediately because it’s just so easy. Essentially it’s doing two tasks at the same time, but no, I’m not talking about multitasking. Multitasking is dividing your energy between two or more tasks, which is counterproductive. Chunking is combining two activities together that don’t detract from the other.

Here are some examples of chunking that work for me:

–      Having a meeting while walking

–      Stretching while watching TV

–      Doing breathing exercises while sitting in front of your computer

–      Listen to an audio program while driving

Why Leisure Is the New Productivity and How to Reclaim Your Leisure Time

You’ve probably worked on a weekend, or had to scroll through emails, or answer text messages from a pushy client. In America, there’s something of an emergent “free time” problem.[1] 65% of employees feel the need to be available outside of work hours on phone and email. Nearly half of Americans (slightly more in some studies) report not having enough free time.

The work boundaries have become blurry

Fifteen years ago, most offices were completely rooted on-site: paperwork, records, and communication (phone, primarily) were all tied to you being physically in the office.

Technology changed that. With the advent of the cloud especially, anyone can access almost any file they need from anywhere. Text messages and emails go directly to your phone. The old “After 5pm I cannot access work resources” turned into “I might be expected to respond to something at 11:30pm.”

There is so much to get done at work and schedules are so tight that needs to be the focus. After all, work provides your livelihood. You need to do it well.

Since there are only so many waking hours in a day, though, you need to cut something. Often this becomes leisure time. Leisure activities like hiking, reading, and spending time with are often cut first for more hours of work.

Cutting leisure time is no good for productivity

Even though you’re working more, productivity is going to drop. A study conducted by the Institute for the Study of Labor has shown that 55 hours per week is a maximum ceiling on human productivity.[2] You might be expected to work more, but a person working 54 hours per week is about as productive as someone working 80 hours per week.

Leisure time is also crucial to creating bursts of insight and new ways of thinking. Very few people come up with big, great, innovative ideas while focused on the “getting, making, and doing” of day-to-day task work. When you’re too focused (as in task work), it’s easy to get stuck in one way of thinking. When you’re doing other things (i.e. leisure time), a concept called “diffuse thinking” kicks in[3] and the brain can actually analyze much more information at once. This leads to increased connections between events or ideas, which is good for coming up with new solutions and innovations.

The field of economics considers leisure a “normal commodity,” with the yield from leisure being satisfaction.[4] Leisure time is used for resting, sleeping, relationship-building, and doing things you enjoy, so it is inherently satisfaction-producing. Having less leisure time will therefore decrease satisfaction in individuals.

Make leisure your productivity booster

Instead of cutting leisure time to work more, make time for leisure and utilize it to help you think about bigger ideas and work more efficiently. I understand it’s difficult to just stop working when you’re so busy and do something for leisure, so here are some steps to help you make time for leisure and turn it into your productivity booster.

Do what’s important

You can begin by thinking about a list of things you want to do during your free time. Then, ask yourself about a specific choice: Why is this important?

For an obvious example: sleep is important to be prepared for the next day and because the body requires it.

But here’s another example we often fall to: why would watching TV be important? Most people would answer that it entertains, informs, and helps us decompress after a long day. Those are all valid options, but what if something else — like a night basketball league — was more entertaining? Or what if podcasts (which you can listen to while running) were more informative? There might be easy replacements for TV-watching, instead of instantly falling into that idea.

Schedule leisure time

Use “time blocking” to achieve this. Under this system, you finish works within a certain period of time — then go for other activities in your leisure time.

The ideal “time on” (work) vs. “time off” (leisure) ratio has been shown by science to be 52 minutes on, 17 minutes off.[5] Consider blocking time like that. When you have more leisure time, i.e. the weekend, schedule out the important activities (family time, exercise, reading, classes) first. Then let the other pieces fall into place around what’s important.

Take a break and come back stronger

If you’re not balancing your work with other aspects of your life like leisure time, you run the risk of becoming a totally unimaginative drone who isn’t enjoying life.

There will always be more work and deadlines in the future. Yes you have to tackle them but that doesn’t mean working on these things 24/7. By taking a break, you relax your body and mind and get yourself more prepared to deal with the challenges again when you’re back to work.

The 24 Hour Workout and Why You Should Adopt It

When your mind is clear, you look and feel better. Over the past couple years, I have been experimenting with a routine to improve my cognitive capability and overall life satisfaction. I call this routine The 24 Hour Workout.

What is The 24 Hour Workout?

Essentially, The 24 Hour Workout is a routine that provides you the following:

  • 24-hour pump. Jump start your morning with an aerobic exercise, followed by push-ups, planks, and curls throughout the entire day.
  • Break your comfort zone. Since you must do your push-up and plank routine throughout the entire day, you will be forced to do these exercises in front of people. It is awkward the first time you are planking in an airport!
  • Spark Neurogenesis. Exercising, especially in the morning, prepares the brain for optimal learning and sparks Neurogenesis. Neurogenesis shows that exercise is strongly correlated with increased brain mass, improved cognition, and new brain cell production. It is sparked by exercise. Explicitly, aerobic exercise is the optimal vehicle for the production of the substance known as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).
  • Kickstart your metabolism. Metabolism is the sum of total energy our body expends each day. Just as in our car, we burn less fuel at rest compared to when we are moving.
  • Increased cognitive abilities. If you are like me, you will to turn into an audiobook junkie. You will find that you are able to read and/or listen to approximately 100 books a year. Additionally, you will be waking up before everyone else, so this is the optimal time to read.
  • Learn to embrace waking up early. To maximize this routine, you must wake up early. You do not have to be as crazy as I am with this routine, but you must embrace this.

My 24-Hour Workout

Here is a summary of my 24 Hour Workout.

  • 2:30am: alarm goes off. Take first round of Qualia, then go back to sleep.
    *Tip: Keep Qualia (more on this later) and bottle of water next to you on your night stand.
  • 3:30am: wake up. Qualia will naturally get you moving and wake you up. Then do your first round of push-ups, plank, and curls.
    *Tip: I found that it takes around 45min to 1hr for your “Qualia Alarm Clock” to kick in.
  • 4:00am: stretch, listen to an audiobook, then perform an aerobic exercise. I normally run (always outside if possible) for 3-5 miles daily. Perform your push-ups, plank, and curls.
    *Tip: If you find it difficult to wake up, try the following: immediately splash cold water on your face, walk outside if it’s cold out, or turn your shower to its coldest setting and get in! Also, sleep in your running clothing or keep them next to you in bed.
  • 5:00am: shower and listen to an audiobook. Perform your push-ups, plank, and curls.
  • 5:30am: read, write, blog, or journal. Perform your push-ups, plank, and curls.
  • 6:30am: eat breakfast. Perform your push-ups, plank, and curls.
  • 7:00am: Spend time with family.
  • 7:30am: Perform your push-ups, plank, and curls. Head to work.

Throughout the day I attempt to complete 10 sets of the push-up, plank, and curl routine. I set a timer on my Fitbit so that every 30min to 1hr I knock out a set. Furthermore, at 12:00pm I take the second round of Qualia with food.

Five Pillars of The 24 Hour Workout

The Five Pillars of The 24 Hour Workout:

Pillar #1 Cardio and Audio

Some type of cardio exercise is mandatory. This is the optimal way to spark Neurogenesis and will provide an abundance of health benefits. I recommend performing this five days a week and always listen to an audiobook while performing your cardio routine.

Pillar #2 Power Up

I have started to focus more on quality rather than quantity. Specifically, when I complete my push-up and plank routine. I now focus on form and muscle fatigue, not repetitions. I recently started to perform Power Push-ups and Power Planks.

Power Push-ups I recommend viewing a video on how-to conduct a power push-up here.

Power Plank A great how-to video for the power plank can be found here. The key is to get in a good planking position.

First, tuck your butt under and squeeze, then drive your elbows down into the floor towards your toes and your toes up toward your elbows. Squeeze every muscle as hard as you can.[1]

Pillar #3 Get Up Early

This is the most important aspect of this routine, yet it is the hardest. Read How to Stay Awake and Energetic No Matter How Busy Your Schedule Is for tips on how to do this.

Pillar #4 Nootropics – Qualia

Ever since watching the film Limitless, I have been searching for something similar to the mysterious smart-drug called NZT-48. I am not completely insane and I do realize this pill is fictional. However, there are smart-drugs (nootropics) out there that are safe and legal. Qualia is one of those safe and legal nootropics. I have also found it to be the best. Find out more about Qualia here.

Pillar #5 Metacognition

If you are really looking to maximize this routine, then you must look for ways to improve your metacognitive skills. Embrace reading and read every chance you get.

Adopt The 24 Hour Workout

I recently came across a unique way to shatter my goals provided by travismcashan.com. Travis McAshan calls this The Bruce Lee Challenge. Adopt The 24 Hour Workout by using The Bruce Lee Challenge.[2]

  • Step 1: Choose your goal. This could be simply starting a morning routine.
  • Step 2: Decide your key objective. Here you are looking to break your goal down into specific and measurable metrics that you can track. For example, let’s say you have the following goals: 1) Wake up every morning by 5am; 2) Run 5 days a week (starting at 5:30am); 3) Read for 30 minutes every morning.
  • Step 3: Commit for 21 days. The human mind takes nearly 21 days to adjust to major life changes. Try sticking to your new routine for 21 days and see what happens.
  • Step 4: Take immediate action. This one is simple… get started now!
  • Step 5: Make a decision. After you have committed for 21 days, it is time to make a decision. Are you going to continue your new routine or not?

Think – Look – Feel

Most of us live life where we know we need to get better, yet it seems like we can’t.

It seems as though how we think, look, and feel are all interconnected… which they are. When our mind is foggy and we can’t think, we don’t look well, and we don’t feel well. There is a gap in between each of these, but how can we fill it?

So, what can we do? Adopt The 24 Hour Workout!

By simply adopting The 24 Hour Workout, you will find that your thoughts will be clear, you will look better, and ultimately feel better. By doing this, you will evolve into a more complex information processing system. Essentially, you will enter beast mode!

Just remember to never give up. You will fail at times during this routine, but you can’t quit. Recently, my friend Casey King was frustrated as he wasn’t reaching 100% consistency with this routine. He felt like he was spinning his wheels. Here was my advice to him,

“You will never get there as things will always get in your way. You have to be mentally okay with a 70-90% day, because that is better than the alternative. The important point is to never give up as your 70% day next year will be better than your 70% today. Essentially, your 70% day next year will be your 100% day this year.” – Dr. Jamie Schwandt

Chia seeds have been part of pop culture since the 1980s

My first interaction with chia seeds was actually through Chia Pets, terra cotta figurines that sprouted the seeds to give the effect of hair or fur. The seeds come from the Salvia hispanica plant, a member of the mint family.[1] The plant is native to Central America, and the Aztecs and Mayans regularly consumed the seeds as an energy booster.[2]

Today, the humble chia seed has taken on a life of its own. Though people still know the seeds in the context of that Chia Pet they bought back in 1982, we now think of them primarily as a health food.

Chia seeds have maximum nutritional effect in minimalist packaging

Unlike some of the more ostentatious superfoods on the market –the avocados, acai, and cacao– chia seeds outward appearance and flavor is understated. The small grayish seeds have a light nutty flavor that is virtually undetectable.

Just because chia seeds don’t have a bold flavor or flashy outward appearance, doesn’t mean that their nutrition profile is any less amazing. According to the USDA, chia seeds are good sources of protein and fiber, and they are rich in calcium, Vitamin A, Iron, and Omega-3 fatty acids.[3]

You need:

  • 1⁄4 cup gluten free all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla whey protein powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
  • sea salt (a pinch)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coconut flakes
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons almond milk

To make this:

1. Mix dry ingredients into a bowl. Gradually add wet ingredients and stir thoroughly.

2. Heat and grease a frying pan or skillet. Use 2 Tbs. of batter per pancake.

3. After the top of the pancake starts to bubble, flip it and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Blueberry-Chia Smoothie[18]

You need:

  • 1 large banana, cut into 1-inch pieces, frozen
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ¼ cup Blueberry–Chia Seed Jam
  • 1 cup coconut water or unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon golden flaxseed oil (optional)

To make this:

Blend these ingredients together until you have a smooth mixture. Enjoy!

Grain-Free Chia Buckwheat Pizza ((NYOUTRITIOUS: Grain-Free Chia Buckwheat Pizza))

You need:

PIZZA BASE

  • ¼ cup chia seeds (whole)¾ cup water
  • 3 tbsp unrefined whole grain buckwheat flour (gluten free)
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tbsp pine nuts, chopped
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds, chopped
  • 1 tsp sea salt

TOPPINGS

  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 10 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4 mushrooms, sliced
  • 4-5 slices bell pepper, sliced
  • small handful fresh basil leaves
  • 1-2 tsp oregano, dried
  • ½ Spanish onion, sliced
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 oz goats cheddar cheese, grated
  • handful arugula leaves (rucola)

To make this:

  1. Combine chia seeds, water, buckwheat flour, oregano & salt and mix well until the mixture starts to thicken up.
  2. Add chopped pine nuts and pumpkin seed.
  3. Spread out the crust mixture on a piece of parchment paper and form the dough in a round shape. Flatten to about 1 cm for a firm thin crust.
  4. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 30-40 minutes until firm.
  5. Remove from oven and add toppings of your choice and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Grate goat’s cheese on top and sprinkle with fresh arugula before serving.

Dynamite comes in small packages

Though small in size, chia seeds have a lot to offer us. Add them to your diet to reap the many benefits of enjoying this super-food.
